High School Students Now Eligible for CDA

Effective April 1, 2011, high school students enrolled in the ECE vocational programs may become candidates for the CDA credential. They must meet all CDA requirements, but do NOT have to be age 18 and must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, or must be a junior or senior in a high school vocational program in early education. CDA candidates should review the Council of Professional Recognition’s website to become familiar with the credentialing process.

 
CDA Assessment Fee Scholarships Available

Georgia early child care practitioners who have completed a preparation course and earned their 120 clock hours from a HOPE-eligible, SACS-accredited institution with an early childhood education program of study or any CDA course approved through the Georgia ECE Training Approval System are eligible to apply for a $325.00 CDA Assessment Fee Scholarship. Please note that 85% of the assessment fee ($276.25) is awarded and paid directly to the Council for Professional Recognition. This fee covers the cost of your CDA Application and Verification Visit by the Council on Professional Recognition.

Earn Your CDA Credential and Qualify for a Bonus

The INCENTIVES Program is a Georgia salary supplement program that rewards early care and education professionals for their educational attainment and for their tenure to the same child care cent program for 12 consecutive months. Applicants, who meet all program eligibility requirements, may receive two equal payments over a twelve-month period, ranging from $100 to $1,000 annually depending on the level of education achieved.
