Effective January 1, 2011, payments for SCHOLARSHIPS and INCENTIVES can only be issued after an early care and education recipient completes and signs the Affidavit Verifiying Status document before notary. Georgia law (O.C.G.A. Section 50-36-11) mandates state agencies to verify the legal status of any person ages 18 years or older who applies for public benefits. Therefore, every applicant must execute a signed and sworn affidavit verifying his or her lawful presence in the United States. For more information call 770.642.6722 / 800.227.3410.
